LiquiDonate was a sponsor at the Women in Retail Leadership Summit in Miami, Florida this year. We spent time meeting brands, reconnecting with partners, and having honest conversations about what happens to product after it leaves primary channels.
And yesâit was also just a really fun event. Great people, great energy, and weâre already excited to go back next year.
We showed up early

Before the keynotes and panels kicked off, we used Sunday, the registration day with the first timers meet and greet event, to do something intentional.
We hosted a volunteer activation.
We packed 30 overstuffed care bags with products donated by retail partners and attendees for the local nonprofit the Healthy Mother Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County. Featuring essential items for newborns and new moms, attendees took time and care in packing a bag and writing a personal note. Shoutout to donors from the Vitamin Shoppe, HATCH Collection, Peak Activity, Catalyst Brands, Boathouse Sports, Vendors in Partnership, and London Times Fashion for providing goods to help make this activation a success.
It was such a pleasure to meet everyone who wanted to help.
Then the energy hit
Sunday nightâs newbies meetup â Monday morning kickoffâŚ
It was wild (in the best way).
The day opened with the keynote âThe State of Retail: Navigating Whatâs Nextâ, followed by sessions like âAI in Retail: From Hype to Real Impactâ and âBuilding Customer Loyalty in a Changing Landscape.â
Later conversations dug into profitability and operations with panels like âDriving Growth While Protecting Marginsâ and âWhat Sustainability Looks Like Now.â
Speakers and operators from across the industry shared how theyâre navigating everything from supply chain pressure to retention to real-world execution.
And off stage, the conversations were just as good.
We had the chance to connect with teams from Signet Jewelry, Dollar Tree, and a range of other brands navigating the same operational questions we think about every day.
We brought LiquiDonate swag from our friends and customers at BagguâŚ
âŚand it was gone almost immediately.
Which tells you everything you need to know about the energy in the room.
The part you donât see
Eventually, the event ends.
And everything moves fast.
Within hours:
- booths are dismantled
- signage is pulled
- product is packed up or cleared out
Thereâs no slow wind-down.
Crews move in almost immediately. Another event is already preparing to take over the space. What was a full conference a few hours ago is suddenly in teardown mode.
And while this year donation planning was built inâand we were brought in specifically to execute itâthe reality on the ground is still fast, physical, and a little chaotic.
Youâre making real-time decisions about where things go.
Thatâs the operational moment most people never see.
Closing the loop
As part of the event, we were brought in to manage donation logistics at the end of the summit.
This was a one-off, white-glove activationâbut it was fully intentional.
When teardown started, we were ready to step in and redirect what we could:
- leftover swag
- extra product
- event materials (including decor and glassware)

We combined everything with the care bags and coordinated distribution.
In total:
- 30 care bags packed
- Over 12,000 items donated,
- 10 nonprofit recipients,
- ~3,000 pounds savedfrom the landfill
- everything matched and moved within 48 hours of the conference ending using our software
These products were routed intentionally. Our goal is always to get products into the hands of nonprofits that could use them immediately.
Where this fits for LiquiDonate
While we donât offer this kind of white-glove, event-specific donation program as a core product today, this activation is exactly the type of problem our infrastructure is built to solve.
For events looking for a scalable option, we support donation through BoxDrop:
- fast setup
- lightweight coordination
- built for short windows and high volume
- real-time matching to nonprofit demand
Final thought
WIRLS is an incredible event.
Itâs built for leadership, connection, and forward-looking retail strategy.
And this year, it also showed whatâs possible when you extend that same level of intention to what happens after the event ends.
Weâre excited to come back next yearâand keep building alongside everything happening at the summit.
